The mixing fibres textile studio is a space in Edinburgh’s Drill Hall to play/work/experiment with textiles and other fibres with others or on your own. There is a range of equipment which currently includes sewing, knitting and needle felting machines, felting necessities, peg loom, drop spindles, some books and magazines and some materials. This resource will develop and expand over time.
The studio can be used in the following ways:
- Classes-a range of classes will be available see details (eg. felting - jewellery, scarves, bags, vessels; needle-felting - pictures and 3D; embellishing; wire knitting and crochet; fabric recycling)
- Drop-in / freestyle- come along with your project or just to try things out.
- Studio hire reserve the studio for yourself or your group.
- Timeshare book a regular slot and some storage space.
The studio is just beside the Drill Hall’s wonderful cafe, which provides delicious food at reasonable prices to build you up before or revive you after an energetic session of creativity!
